M. / Community Medicine subject is of utmost importance & throughout the period of study attention of the students is directed towards the importance of preventive medicine & the measures for the community medicine concept, man & society, aim & scope of preventive & social medicine, social causes of disease & social health & diseases. Students has been made conversant with the national health problems of rural as well as urban areas, so that he can be assigned responsibilities to play an effective role not only in the field of curative but also in the preventive & social medicine including family planning. Course Outcome

Community Medicine is the subject concern with creating awareness and ability to deal with health & disease in community.

The students should be directed towards the importance of preventive medicine and measures for promotion of positive health.

They should have opportunities to have practical contacts with families and communities to know and study real backgrounds.

They should be expert in prescribing homoeopathic medicine for curative& preventive purposes.

They should be well-versed with national health program with rural & urban areas problem.

They can be assigned responsibilities to play effective role, not only in field of curative but also preventive and social medicine including family.

The student must have field work study in order to have a real actual insight into the prevailing health problem.

During health teaching, focus should be laid on community medicine concept, man & society& scope of preventive and social medicine, social causes of diseases, social problems of sick concern with economic, environmental factors.

To prepare the student to function in community and as efficient homoeopathic physician in accordance with institutional goal.

  • Understanding of demography, population dynamics and disease burden in National and global conduct.
  • Understanding of physical, social, psychological, economic and environmental determinants of health and disease.
  • Ability to recognize and manage common health problems at individual and community level in the purview of National Health Programs.
  • Ability to recognize, investigate& management of community health problems.
