Mechanical Engineering


The department of Mechanical Engineering has an intake of 120 students. The department offers B. E. (Mech.) degree affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. The department has well qualified, experienced and dedicated staff members. All the laboratories of the department are well equipped. A separate CAD laboratory has been developed with various softwares such as AutoCad 2009, Ansys, Catia, ProE, Master-CAM etc. Engine emission testing equipments like CO-HC gas analyzer and diesel smoke meter have also been purchased in the Internal Combustion Engines laboratory. Apart from deputing the staff members for higher studies, they are encouraged to attend various conferences, seminars, workshop to upgrade their knowledge. Many staff members have presented and published papers at both National & International level journals/conferences. A separate library is functioning under the “Mechanical Engineering Students Association” (MESA) which contains books for competitive exams like GRE, TOEFL, CAT, GATE etc. The association also organizes Guest lecturer by experts from industry and reputed institution. Academic result of final year students continued very impressive in past years and most of the students are placed at very good positions in reputed organizations. The mechanical Department has well qualified, experienced and dedicated staff. The Mechanical Department is headed by Prof. M. M. Rathore, who has teaching experience of more than two and half decades and authored eight prominent and well accepted book in mechanical engineering, published by Jones and Bartlett Learning (USA), McGraw Hill Education, Laxmi Publications, Dhanpatrai Publishing Company.

The educational objectives of the program leading to the degree in Mechanical Engineering are that

  • Lead in the conception, design, and implementation of new products, processes, services, and systems.

Program Outcomes (POs)

Mechanical Engineering programs must demonstrate that their graduates have (a-k):
